TO PROMOTE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND THE REPUBLIC OF IRELAND, ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THOSE PERSONS WHO SUFFER FROM MYASTHENIA GRAVIS, AND IN PARTICULAR BUT WITHOUT LIMITATION TO RELIEVE SICKNESS, HARDSHIP AND DISTRESS AND PROVIDE COMFORT AND SUPPORT TO PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM MYASTHENIA GRAVIS AND TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE EDUCATION AND RESEARCH INTO MYASTHENIA GRAVIS AND TO PUBLISH THE USEFUL RESULTS OF ANY SUCH RESEARCH
The Myasthenia Gravis Association (MGA) is an organisation registered as a charity on 19th May 1995. However we have been around as an organisation since May 1976, offering support to Myasthenics and their families, increasing public and medical awareness and raising funds for research. Myasthenia Gravis is a severe muscle weakening disease.
The MGA headquarters are based at The College Business Centre, Derby. with MGA branches throughout the MGA regions
The MGA acts as a contact point putting sufferers and their families in touch with each other so that they do not feel isolated in dealing with this rare disease. The association also puts members in touch with other appropriate agencies for any specific problems they are facing, for example problems with benefits.
