Beware when applying or reapplying for a Blue Badge Blue Badges have been prominent in enquiries, so I thought I would give some pointers about application and reapplication/renewal. Applying and reapplying is no longer just a formality the whole process has changed. If you receive higher rate mobility DLA the qualification to a Blue Badge is Automatic. I always suggest that you put a photocopy of currant DLA as evidence in with your completed form. You can still apply for a Blue Badge without DLA. You will need to prove and show evidence of the following:
Prior to applying or renewing I would advise you visit your GP/Consultant and ask for a letter to cover the above. When you have completed the very simple application, copy and enclose the GP/Consultant letter as supporting evidence. If you have recently been refused a Blue Badge, you can ask for reconsideration of the decision. You will need extra evidence to do this. If this is the case I am happy to discuss individual cases. I would strongly advise that you contact me as it is no longer just a formality completing the form.
