The online forum is meant as a support group for peer-to-peer discussions, and is not an official channel for the Myasthenia Gravis Association.
The Webmaster, Forum Adminstrator and overall web administration are employees and volunteersselected by Myasthenia Gravis Association (MGA) For the purposes of this information they will be referred to as MGA Staff.
1. Purpose of MGA Forum
1.1 The purpose of this site is to provide a safe forum for people to share experiences and help each other cope with the challenges of living with or caring for people with myasthenia gravis. 1.2 There is no moderation on this site and no pre-checking of content posted via the discussion system and therefore we make no claims as to the accuracy, integrity, timeliness or quality of such content. Content must not be quoted as an authority. Content may be changed and/or removed at any time without reference to originator or any third party at the discretion of MGA Staff. 1.3 This site is not a substitute for professional advice. You should consult your doctor, or other relevant professional, before making any decisions that could affect you or others. None of the MGA Staff are medically qualified and any postings made by them with regard to medical information have no more authority than any other person. 2. Conduct Expected of Users
2.1 Participation in, and use of this site is at the user's own risk.
2.2 All views and information, whether publicly posted or privately transmitted are individual and not the views, policy or advice of the Myasthenia Gravis Association (MGA). You are deemed to agree, understand and acknowledge that content is the sole responsibility of the person from which such content originated and not that of MGA
2.3 The naming of health or care providers and/or their individual staff or organisation is prohibited. The Myasthenia Gravis Association aims to remove such references but has no obligation to do so. Users who continue to post such information will be banned without notice.
2.4 The use of the message boards for gathering information for surveys, articles and research studies, or similar, is prohibited unless prior permission has been given by the Myasthenia Gravis Association.
2.5 All users under the age of 13 must seek permission from their parent or guardian in order to gain membership of this site. While we welcome participation from members under 13. We require that a parent or guardian email permission before we grant membership. The MGA is under no obligation to check the ages of people who join.
2.6 You agree not to participate in mischievous or malicious behaviour which causes damage or may cause damage to the Myasthenia Gravis Association or this site or any of the computer systems on which this site resides.

3. Postings and Messages
3.1 Content that is posted to this site or otherwise included in its private messaging systems, including your choice of public name or id, must follow these conditions:

The may however be given between two individuals by way of a Private Messaging (PM) system if one is provided. Such information is entirely at the risk and discretion of the individuals concerned.
3.4 Messages containing personal endorsement of products and services that may be of benefit to our users, may be permitted. Messages deemed to contain commercial advertising, and unsolicited messages for the purpose of advertising a product or service, are not permitted on this site. Such judgement is at the discretion of MGA Staff.
3.5 Messages advertising items, whether for sale or donation, are not permitted on this site without firstly obtaining permission from MGA Staff unless such a facitlity has been expressely set up for this purpose. This includes offers of second-hand equipment.
3.6 Messages must not be excessively long nor intentionally repeated.
3.7 Messages must not infringe or violate another party's rights (including, but not limited to, copyright and/or intellectual property rights, and rights of privacy and publicity).
3.8 By submitting information to the discussion boards, you grant the Myasthenia Gravis Association a non-exclusive worldwide royalty-free perpetual non-revocable licence to use, distribute, adapt, modify, display, reproduce and transmit such information in any and all media in the manner in whole or in part without any duty to account to you. You also grant the Myasthenia Gravis Association the right to grant licences to users of the Website to view and copy such information for personal use.
3.9 the Myasthenia Gravis Association may from time to time edit or remove posts that are contrary to these terms and conditions or not constructive to the overall purpose and mission of the Myasthenia Gravis Association.
3.10 You agree not to transmit any chain letters, spam, or junk messages to other users.

3.13 Personal attacks of any sort will not be tolerated or comments that are deemed to be unnecessary or personal in nature will be subject of removal.
3.14 All messages to be in English to facilitate moderation and review.
4. Moderation and Banning
4.1 The Myasthenia Gravis Association has the right, but no obligation, to remove, edit, move or close any message or group of messages for any reason.
4.2 The Myasthenia Gravis Association is not obliged to enter into any correspondence regarding the moderation of content on the forum chat private messaging and multi-chat systems.
4.3 The Myasthenia Gravis Association has the right to modify or delete any or all information relating to a user, including deletion of that user's account, without prior notice or reason.
4.4 Any removal or banning of a visitor from anywhere within the Myasthenia Gravis Association forum is binding and the decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into nor will forum administration be obliged to explain such banning.
4.5 Posts discussing moderated actions are not permitted on this forum. Members who wish to take issue with any decision made by the MGA Staff should either contact them privately. Posts discussing moderated decisions on the forum will be removed without notice, and may result in further moderated action.
4.6 In cases of dispute, the decision of the Webmaster at the Myasthenia Gravis Association shall be final.
5. Privacy and Data Protection
5.1 Personal information is only stored and used in accordance with our registration with the Data Commissioner under the terms of the Data Protection Act.
5.2 Cookies are used to assist the functionality of the website only; personal data is not collected via cookies.
5.3 From time to time the Myasthenia Gravis Association may contact you for administration purposes.
6. Notice of Action and Changes to Terms & Conditions
6.1 Where a breach of these terms and conditions occurs the Myasthenia Gravis Association reserves the right to take such action as it sees fit.
6.2 Any reference to third party organisations, their product/s, service/s or staff does not imply endorsement by the Myasthenia Gravis Association.
6.3 This agreement shall be governed in accordance with the laws of England.
